Welcome to PlayRite.eu: why this collective exists

Welcome to PlayRite.eu. Behind this name, Players Advocating for Your Rights in Interactive Technology Entertainment, lies a simple conviction: as video games shift toward an all-digital model, players' rights are fading away, without anyone truly having decided so.
Our mission
We are a collective of gamers, from various European countries, joining forces and knowledge behind one idea: that players' rights be understood, respected and protected. We want to shed light (break down contracts and laws), debate (compare points of view) and act (put forward proposals and mobilise).
Whether you are a casual player, an enthusiast, a lawyer or simply curious, your voice matters. The digital world of gaming will only be fair if we demand it together.
What you will find here
- Accessible legal analyses: what is a CLUF?, unfair terms, the resale of digital games.
- Coverage of European news: the Commission's response to Stop Destroying Videogames.
- Tools to take action: a template letter to your elected representatives.
A word of humility
We do not claim to hold the truth. Some of our analyses or ideas surely contain errors or blind spots, and any remark is welcome, including the classic "that's crazy" or "it will never work". Debate is part of the process.
A discussion group also exists on Facebook. Join us, share your experiences, your questions, your disagreements.
(Discussions are mainly in French for now, but the site is translated into every language of the Union.)
